On September 11, 2001, New York City and indeed the rest of the world was shocked by the events that saw three tall buildings fall, many lives lost, and the world has not been the same since.
This year is the twentieth anniversary, and I presume there will be events all over the United States, Canada and perhaps the world commemorating that day.
On September 11, 2021 there will be another event happening too. It will likely be overshadowed by the 20th anniversary of 9-11, but it is still important to me, and to 100,000 other Canadians with Parkinson's Disease. September 11, 2021 is the Parkinson Canada Superwalk day.
Twenty years ago, my Grandpa had Parkinson's. At that time I had no idea that it was already developing in my brain and how that would affect me today.
Due to Covid, my family and I will be walking together in our community, leaving flyers in local mailboxes to raise awareness about the walk and about Parkinson's in general. Perhaps you can join us, by walking in your community too. If you can, please join our team, help us raise awareness about Parkinson's across Canada.
