The SuperWalk is on September 11 this year. Due to covid, the SuperWalk has become a decentralized event, where each person or family walks in their own community on walk day. It takes less than an hour, but that time is well spent. It raises awareness about Parkinson's across the country to many people that will be diagnosed with the disease in the next few years.
- Parkinson's is the fastest growing neurological disease and there is still no cure.
- There are currently over 100,000 Canadians diagnosed, and many who have the disease who do not even know it.
- The number of people diagnosed each year is expected to double over the next decade.
- Canada has some of the highest rates of Parkinson's in the world.
My challenge to you:
Join the team, take a walk on September 11 in memory of Grandpa John Linton, and raise awareness about Parkinson's in your community.
Will you do it?
